This workshop will explore the diverse ways in which definitions and models of disability shape the lived experiences of disabled people. We will examine the intersections of disability with other social identities and frameworks, highlighting how these intersections impact our young people.
Throughout the session, attendees will gain valuable insights into creating an inclusive environment for young people with disability. We will focus on the critical role that language and actions play in fostering inclusivity. Attendees will learn effective communication strategies that promote respect and understanding, ensuring that all young individuals feel valued and empowered.
The workshop will feature a blend of dynamic interactive activities and engaging discussions designed to facilitate deeper learning and the exchange of ideas. These activities will encourage participants to reflect on their own perceptions and biases, while providing practical tools to apply in real-world situations.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will leave equipped with knowledge and confidence to actively support and engage with young people who have disability. This is an opportunity to not only expand your understanding but also to be part of a collective movement towards a more inclusive society. We invite educators, community leaders, and anyone interested in advocating for disability rights to participate in this essential conversation and skill-building experience.
